Buick Lacrosse

Last year we hinted at parent company General Motor’s ambition to drive down the age of the average Buick driver from nonagenarians to something nearer fifty. The first of the new wave Buicks has now arrived. Last year’s debutante has been doing its job, appealing to not just America’s silver generation but also a slightly younger demographic. Quiet calm is high on the list of Lacrosse virtues, as is a reasonably precise handling capability and competent, if not earth-shattering, output from the higher performance engine option. One of the more interesting standard features is the ability to start the engine by remote control from as far away as 500 feet – useful in the more northerly states, where heavy snowfalls are a standard winter feature.
